About the Department/Institute

Year of Establishment:   UG-1982         

VISION :               We focus on the predictive understanding not only theoretical but also practical of plants and specially  local, regional and global scales. Students understand medicinal and herbal uses of local plants. To provide modern, Skill oriented and quality education to the students contributing in the process of social behavior. 

MISSION :           Its mission to apply  conventional as well as non conventional tools to understand plant study . To develop human resource with expertise in study area of plant. To be "Center for Excellence "and discover maintain and transmit knowledge concerning basic plant biology and provide leadership our research mission of the undergraduate programs is to generate new knowledge and co-related  to old herb medicinal knowledge of society.

·        Thrust Areas -   Ethno botany is useful for society so this is our main focus area for research. We want to identification of medicinal plants which are popular in local peoples.At ancient time people uses plants as a healer so we also want to generalized this medicinal plants between modern people now a day medicinal plants are so beneficial for us.
