Geography is thescience of detailed description of surface, atmosphere,hydrosphere,bio-worldand explanation of causal relationship. The discipline ofGeography binds boththe natural and human realms, acting as a bridge betweenthe natural and socialsciences. Geographers study the processes in whichnature's complex and delicatebalance is used to make life possible on Earth. The lack of knowledge ofgeography may lead to many problems at the localregional and global level. Agraduate with geography acquires an understandingof how our environment isshaped by the interaction of natural and humanprocesses and also theunderstanding of the consequences of the problems suchas ozone layerdepletion, climate change, biodiversity loss, land degradation anddisasters.

Infrastructure –
Outcome –
Most part oftheagricultural land of Bhatapara is non-irrigated so agriculturalpractice mostlydepends upon monsoon. In the scenario of uncertainly in therainfall ourstudents are learning to forecast the rain/Seasons and relatedevents. One ofour 2017-2020 batch student Chintaram Sahu may be Cited as anexcellent exampleof forecasting the cyclonic rainfall & hence successfullysaved theharvested crop.
Best Practice –
As a part ofproject work in Environmental studies thestudents were allotted the task ofpreparing soak pit for harvesting the rainwater. More than 1000 such soak pitswere prepared by the students in a singlesession of 2020-21. Looking at theproblem of water scarcity and lowering watertable day by day such practice ofmaking soak pits in mass scale will surelyresolve the water crisis of the areain & around Bhatapara.
